Inheritors, The

Aroview: An earthily subversive drama set among a rural community of peasants and masters in an idyllic Austrian valley in the early 20th century.

When the largest local farmer is murdered, it transpires that his testament mischieviously leaves the entire estate to his workers - a situation which sows the seeds of rebellion, resentment and chaos. Something of a plucky class black-comedy, this has also been described as an "Austrian Western", and is certainly an entertaining glimpse into the national character.
