Good Thief, The

Aroview: This woozy, lightly stylised thriller finds Nick Nolte as the titular gambling thief looking to go into retirement by heisting expensive paintings from a casino.

Essentially remaking the plot of the 50s French thriller BOB LE FLAMBEUR, this replaces deadpan coolness with swimming colours, ironic dialogue and Euro-thriller archetypes. Worth a look for Nolte's scenery-chewing, a lively (if overflowing) support cast and some tense suspense scenes.
