Aroview: Dir. Kitano’s first US film fuses his touch for wincingly intense violence with a ironical, comic streak that plays off the dynamics of the multicultural Los Angeles setting.

As always, Takeshi plays a Japanese Yakuza, who here journeys to California in search of his half-brother, eventually bonding with black gangster Omar Epps instead.
