Aroview: Overblown, but technically impressive rendition of the 1941 Japanese surprise-attack on Pearl Harbour in which a sizable proportion of the US fleet was sunk.

Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale and Josh Hartnett lead the flag-waving, less as characters caught up in history, more as archetypes inhabiting a simplistic coded world of American iconography. Drawn-out, sentimental but with some excellently set off explosions.
