Aroview: Sprawling and absorbing documentary series from the maker of THE CIVIL WAR, charting the rising star of jazz during the 20th century, with an especial emphasis on the style’s origins in New Orleans and the deep south.

Without quite including every player of note, it is a remarkably complete group portrait, with rare tracks, interviews and footage documenting its pantheon, which includes Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Miles Davis.
