Maker, The

Aroview: To all appearances a straightforward crime-film, the dir. of RIVER'S EDGE distinguishes the coming-of-age tale of troubled teen Jonathon Rhys-Myers with a pointed vision of alienated youth. Restrained, lowlife characterisations from Matthew Modine, Fairuza Balk (and even video-stalwart Michael Madsen!) also make this worth a look.
