Like It Is

Aroview: Amateur boxing champ Steve Bell does well in his acting debut as a naïve prizefighter who abandons violent life in Blackpool's underworld to find love and disillusionment in London's gay clubland. Like his character, this is a genial but slightly awkward 'coming out' drama that finds conflict between the macho denial of the North and the gay abandon of hip London. Frank sex scenes and Roger Daltrey as a camp predator figure among its distinguishing marks.
