Aroview: This Canadian punk music 'mockumentary' is not just simply another son-of-SPINAL TAP, taking an edgier, bleaker comic look at the volatile dynamics of a rock band. Making it medium big in the early eighties, 'The Hardcores' fizzled and disbanded, but here they embark on a reunion mini-tour with documentary crew in tow… Adapted from a novel, the film doesn't take the cheap shot approach of tracing the faux-history of the band, but instead focuses on the individuals as they are now and lets you draw your own conclusions about their pasts and futures. Those disappointed with fluff like STILL CRAZY will find here a much more courageous and convincing mix of black humour, pathos, anger and musical passion. Real life rock muso Hugh Dillon heads the band with Callum Keith Rennie, Bernie Coulson, John Pyper-Ferguson.
