Craic, The

Australia 1999, 89 minutes
Dir. Ted Emery
Rating: [M]
Genres: Comedy

Topics: Bad Taste.

Feat.  Jimeoin

Aroview: The title is Irish slang for a 'bloody good time', and leading Oz stand-up comic Jimeoin's (pronounced Jimmy Owen) self-penned feature pretty much succeeds in that capacity, if not a whole lot else. Surrounding himself with oddball characters (incl. 'Men At Work' frontman Colin Hay and many veterans of Oz television), Jimeoin is obviously well-practised as a charismatic, Guinness-swilling Irishman lost in Australia. The '80s Oz-rock soundtrack adds to the pearler party atmosphere.
