Limelight

USA 1951, 137 minutes
Dir. Charles Chaplin
Rating: [G]
Genres: Classics

Topics: Showbiz, Tearjerker, Late-life.

Aroview: Charlie Chaplin's final film recreates in spirit his poverty-stricken London boyhood and escape into the vaudeville world.

With such emotionally close material this is the 'tramps' most serious statement, and most sentimental, with a routine starring Buster Keaton (their only shared scene ever) affording one of the few truly comic moments.
