Possession
Aroview: Brazenly over-the-top tale of domestic disharmony and demon possession, infamous for an incredibly mannered performance by Sam Neill and an incredibly selfless performance by Isabelle Adjani (for which she won Best Actress at Cannes).
Some terrible English dialogue (by Polish native Zulawski) and a dizzying lack of logic consign it to the Euro-trash camp, but its twisted artsiness renders it one of the more fascinating shockers of the early 80s and apparently Sam Neill's personal favourite. Butchered prints exist but this is, for better or worse, the full uncut version.

1 star (Turkey) overrated ~Wyatt Earp
5 stars (Exceptional) Incredibly grim film and Sam Neill's finest performance, nothing like it ~Anne
2 stars (Good Try) I've always labelled him as a consistently good actor but Sam Neill is awful in this. The screenplay is not great but it is not without interest. ~Tubbs
