Cinema of Unease
Aroview: Sam Neill essays a personal history of Kiwi film as a reflection of our national identity. From his big break in the landmark SLEEPING DOGS to the masterworks of Jane Campion, Peter Jackson and Lee Tamahori, Sam waxes nostalgic with a witty yet penetrating eye.
Videotape program is coupled with FORGOTTEN SILVER, Costa Botes and Peter Jackson's elaborate and hilarious hoax on the groundbreaking exploits of Kiwi film-making 'legend', Colin MacKenkie.

4 stars (Very Good) A highlight among many kiwi documentaries, Cinema of Unease is masterfully able to be subtle with dividing itself with Sam Neill's life story, identity, perspective on cinema, as well as the history of New Zealand cinema itself. ~KiwiFilmBuff
