Circus, The

USA 1928, 72+25 minutes, B/W
Dir. Charles Chaplin
Rating: [G]
Genres: Classics, Comedy / Silent Cinema

Aroview: Chaplin's Little Tramp stumbles into a travelling circus where he falls in love and finds work as a circus clown and high-wire artist. Hasn't the reputation of his "masterpiece" features, but is still one of his finest slapstick comedies.

Bonus film on tape, "One Day's Pleasure" (25m.) is a quirky, gag-laden two-reeler in which Charlie tries to enjoy a Sunday boat trip with his family.
