Aroview: Comedy adapting the 1926 play Chicago by Maurine Dallas Watkins, which was the inspiration for the hit Broadway musical.

Ginger Rogers plays the struggling Chicago showgirl who confesses to a murder in the hopes it will generate publicity. Due to the Production Code governing Hollywood at the time, this version portrays Roxie as an innocent and misguided woman who made up the murder.
