Aroview: Pre-Code Hollywood epic from director Cecil B. DeMille, based on the Wilson Barrett play of the same name.
Forms a biblical trilogy with DeMille's previous films THE TEN COMMANDMENTS and THE KING OF KINGS, and is set in ancient Rome during the reign of Emperor Nero, where a Roman soldier falls in love with a Christian woman, which threatens his loyalty to the emperor, and generate the ire of a jealous empress. Made on a budget during the Great Depression, despite the sumptuous setting of Nero's extravagant reign.
