Legend of the Holy Drinker, The

Aroview: Rutger Hauer plays a drunken homeless man in Paris who is lent 200 francs by a stranger as long as he promises to repay it to a local church when he can afford to, though his attempts to do so are constantly thwarted. The story of spirituality and communion is relayed with little dialogue or action, and based on the 1939 novella by the Austrian novelist Joseph Roth.
