Tickled
“Far from a jolly little film about odd, harmless people, it's dark, weird and menacing.”~Mick LaSalle, San Francisco Chronicle
Aroview: Utterly engrossing documentary from Kiwi journo David Farrier, who stumbles into the bizarre world of "competitive tickling" that leads him on an investigative trail towards something much more pervasive and sinister.
Unique in subject, but following a path established by cautionary internet docos like CATFISH, the film drums up palpable dramatic tension as the fish-out-of-water film-makers bravely follow their nose in pursuit of the unsavoury truth.

2 stars (Good Try) It played like a spoof comedy and I lost interest before the half way point. ~tubbs
5 stars (Exceptional) Brilliant documentary that starts with a light touch then gets very heavy and dark with some tense moments. Excellent lighting and cinematography. ~Rowlf
4 stars (Very Good) If you have no idea what this doco is about, watch it now before you learn anything more. This movie zigs when you expect it to zag, and tells a pretty captivating story by the time it's done. Maybe a bit sympathetic, but never overstays its welcome. ~Pop&Coffee
