Spoils of Babylon, The (TV Mini-Series)

Aroview: A florid send-up of the 'event mini-series' genre - a regular fixture on televisions in the 70s and 80s - that incorporates everything from the bad fashion, to hammy dialogue, to high-pitched melodrama into its oversized parody of the likes of THE THORN BIRDS and THE WINDS OF WAR.

Created by Adam Mckay and Will Ferrell, this has a definite 'Anchorman' vibe to it in terms of its satire and comic sensibility, though in the end is limited by the fact it is spoofing something that's already pretty cheesy and over-the-top to begin with.
