“This brisk and exuberant comedy... is powered by a strong current of romantic melancholy.”~New Yorker
Aroview: Dir. Joe Swanberg instills a mumblecore ethos into this lively and naturalistic comedy of two friendly couples fighting an attraction to opposite partners.
Set in a trendy craft-brewery and lead by an attractive cast, the film actually boasts very little 'mumbling', but rather bright and chatty interactions between the actors, all of whom are improvising their dialogue. The overall effect is easy-going and down-to-earth, if ultimately lightweight.
