Aroview: Clint Eastwood lounges as another grizzled veteran at odds with the modern world in this pretenseless baseball drama.

An unapologetic romance about the old-world virtues of America's national past time, the film also juggles a familiar narrative of father-daughter reconciliation with a simple insight into the lives of major league baseball scouts. A little clunky and over-obvious in parts, it's strictly for suckers for the sentimental sports movie formula.
