Aroview: Lucid, unpretentious biography of 'the father of the symphony' Joseph Haydn drawing on interviews with both musicians and historians.

The third in director Grabsky's trilogy of great composers is perhaps not as 'dramatic' as MOZART or BEETHOVEN, owing to Haydn's considerably quieter life, but it is an excellent primer and gentle reminder of why both Mozart and Beethoven considered themselves Haydn's pupils.

3 stars (Good Enough) Unpretentious and honest biography of a simple and unpretentious man. Eloquently and respectfully filmed. Puts the voluminous work of Joseph Haydn into context and explains why he is regarded as the father of symphonic music. Well worth seeing. ~Anon
