“As cartoonish live-action and photorealistic cartoons reign at the multiplex, all but obsoleting the laws of gravity, 'Haywire' puts the impact back into screen violence, brings it back to earth.”~Nick Pinkerton, Village Voice
Aroview: Steven Soderbergh directs this classy action vehicle for mixed martial arts star Gina Carano, here playing a black ops spy who is double crossed on her latest mission abroad.
Delivered with typical Soderbergh efficiency and dexterity, yet also fast and loose in the tradition of globe-trotting espionage thrillers, the film is distinguished for its clear-sighted action sequences and realistic hand-to-hand combat, edited in opposition to the frenetic, scatter-shot fight style popularized by the Bourne trilogy. In other words, an action movie with aesthetic smarts.

		- 3 stars (Good Enough) Or 'Bourne a Woman'. Airport novel premise, '3 Days of the Condor' music. Murky DV ('experimental' Soderbergh) and starry cast ('mainstream' Soderbergh). Fun when it gets going. Carano: beautiful and kick-ass! ~HiFi
- 2 stars (Good Try) Go girl! ~Tubbs
