Savages

Aroview: Merchant Ivory's most unexpected film is an allegorical story of a primitive jungle tribe who are interrupted, mid human-sacrifice, by a croquet ball. Searching for it's origin they find themselves on a deserted Long Island estate, which exerts a strangely civilizing influence upon the group, turning them into grand socialite stereotypes at a weekend house party.
