Alice in the Cities
Aroview: A German journalist's homeward trek is diverted through various cities when he helps a young companion re-locate her family. Wenders' fascination with landscape and Americana pervades even this early work.

4 stars (Very Good) The standout is the relationship between the journalist & kid developing with little sentimentality - entirely believable. The second standout was Canned Heat on the jukebox "On the Road Again" - & along with worn props & locations fitted in perfectly. ~Tubbs
5 stars (Exceptional) Among the many joys of this film is the considered pace and the opportunity to see New York, Amsterdam and Germany in a now unrecognisable light. The acting is superb. ~Haystack
4 stars (Very Good) It's quiet & at the very start, a sandpiper runs along the tideline, barely discernable. Delightful, enjoyable, gentle & relaxing - and funny. Alice is very real & amusing. In fact, all characters fascinate. A very likeable film. ~Sandy
