Gnomeo & Juliet

Aroview: A charming, if smugly delivered animated tale which reimagines Shakespeare’s most recognisable work in the setting of a garden decorated by gnomes.

Much like TOY STORY, kids will lap up the imaginary premise of figurines and trinkets coming to life in the absence of their human owners, and the predominantly British voice cast lend a point of difference to otherwise familiar proceedings. Older viewers, however, may find the know-it-all pop cultural references and endless parodying of the Bard's work a little too clever for its own good.
