“Up close and really rather fabulous.”~Jonathan Romney, The Independent

Aroview: Another arthouse conceit from dir. Sally Potter (ORLANDO, YES), comprised entirely of monologues from insiders at New York fashion house, who recall a week of disasterous events to an internet blogger on his cell-phone camera.

Experimental film will test patience of the casual viewer and it struggles to sustain its full feature length, but it's full of performance nuggets, with Jude Law quite marvellous (daahling!) as sweet transvestite "Minx", and the gorgeous colour-coded aesthetic is bound to be a trendsetter, for parties if not other films. The first film to 'premiere' on mobile phones, this is a film quite self-conscious about the zeitgeist, though it only occasionally transcends the shallow surfaces of the fashion industry it gently derides.
