Women in Trouble

Aroview: A grungy burlesque comedy set on the fringes of Hollywood in LA's porn industry, this connects stories of wives, mothers and ladies of the trade variously teetering on the verge of nervous breakdowns.

The sexy tragicomedies of Pedro Almodovar are an obvious touchstone, and while not as classy as the Spanish master (by virtue of budget at least) this cast of women are in a talent league well above the characters they portray. Indeed, while a good proportion of them deliver most of their dialogue semi-clad, they work from a script that is smartly (if not fully) dressed.
