Life on Mars (US TV Series)

Aroview: Polarizing remake of the British sci-fi success shares an identical premise - namely cop hit by car in present wakes up in 1973 - with New York filling in for Manchester this time round.

Despite lasting only one season and a highly divisive finale there's a lot of fun to be had for those nostalgic for the seventies cop shows. THE ROCKFORD FILES, STARSKY AND HUTCH, and KOJAK all get a nod from the show and there's some surprisingly pertinent examinations of gender politics and racism.
