Break Of Day

Aroview: Quiet Australian drama focused on a young soldier's struggle to adjust to his previous life after returning home post-WW1, and his pursuit of liberation through an affair with an artist neighbour.

Andrew MacFarlane downplays his performance to the precarious edge of sullen, but the beautiful cinematography by Russell Boyd (who won an AFI award for this) injects vital life into the curiously measured proceedings.
