Paris Blues

USA 1961, 95 minutes
Dir. Martin Ritt
Genres: Classics, Drama, Music / Jazz & Blues, Romance

Topics: Period 1960s.

Aroview: Undernourished romantic drama has Newman and Poitier as Jazz musicians on holiday in Paris forced to decide whether to stay or return to the U.S. for love.

Despite a slight plot there is plenty to savour here for both Jazz fans and francophiles, with Parisian ambience in abundance and Duke Ellington's moody score being particular highlights.
