Masters of Horror: Imprint

Aroview: The ugly duckling of the MASTERS OF HORROR series, Takashi Miike directs this typically surreal and gruesome fable of a prostitute’s horrific fate.

Deemed too shocking for television, Miike indulges his sadistic streak, although as usual transcends the lurid and unsavory with unpredictable storytelling, outrageous visuals, and unlikely black comedy. Billy Drago’s hilarious performance was perhaps unintended though.
