Lena Baker Story, The

Aroview: Loose dramatization of the life of Lena Baker (Arnold), an African American woman who was sentenced to death after killing her abusive white employer.

Although the film suffers by not adhering to the 'show, don't tell' rule, the excellent performance by Arnold elevates it to a more powerful - if not a little melodramatic - commentary on racial prejudice.
