Criss Cross

Aroview: Film noir stars Lancaster as Steve Thompson, a love-lorn armored truck driver obsessed with air-headed ex-wife Anna (De Carlo) who now bunks with gangster Slim (Duryea). To get her back, he plots an elaborate scheme with Slim to rob the armored car, with the intention to double cross him and run away with Anna - but of course, nothing goes to plan.

Excellent tale of revenge and betrayal, there is a sense of doom here that permeates throughout, and although all the double-crossing gets somewhat confused, the dark brooding tone keeps things compelling.
