USA 2008, 94 minutes
Dir. Adam McKay
Genres: Comedy
Topics: Mid-life.
Aroview: Taking cheapshots at lacklustre parenting and the common modern phenomenon of pampered adults refusing to fly the coop, this unruly Ferrell / Reilly comedy vehicle stars the madcap duo as a couple of middle-aged step brothers forced to move out of the family home and live together when their single parents decide to tie the knot.
Combining again with dir. McKay (ANCHORMAN), Reilly and Ferrell are given free reign to regress, shamelessly tossing off an aggressive barrage of gross-out gags and callous insults, some of which hit the funnybone, many of which miss the mark. Perverse pleasure to be had if you're willing to indulge in rabid juvenilia, and will doubtless prove hilarious for some, though one can't help but feel exhausted by the time the attention-seeking antics come to a close.

2 stars (Good Try) The script is juvenile but the plot idea is fine. When you get tired of the immature characters Mary Steenburgen and Richard Jenkins are worth a look. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) I was prepared to love this movie, and was disappointed that it barely stands up. Adam Scott is unexpectedly great, and there are a few moments, but it fails to live up to its potential, given the talent behind it. ~Pop&Coffee
