Zombie Diaries, The

Aroview: Taking cues from 28 DAYS LATER and the wellspring of Romero classics, this low-key indie zombie mockumentary has three separate countryside-roaming groups doing their damnedest to survive (and film) a flu-like zombie outbreak that has infected Britain's population.

Gorging on the usual genre trappings, this manages to keep it simple without descending into stupidity, drawing out the benign dread of the English countryside in the process. Scary for newcomers and brainy enough for seasoned zombie vets, the enjoyment factor will be multiplied for those prepared to forgive some inexplicable lapses of logic.
