Aroview: Surreal drama from the king of skewed cinema Harmony Korine (GUMMO) following two parallel plots about identity: a couple of celeb impersonators (Morton and Luna) venture to a Scottish castle populated by fellow lookalikes; while across the world a Panama priest (a hamming Werner Herzog) and a gaggle of nuns are on the lookout for a miracle.
As per usual Korine's self-conscious whimsy will rub a few the wrong way, but while some scenes are awkwardly acted and under-realised, there are enough flourishes of genuine inspiration and oddball beauty to shush the naysayers, courtesy of several wondrously imaginative shots and a dreamy doozy of a soundtrack.
