Aroview: Ryan Gosling plays an awkward loner who enters into a courtship with a life-size, anatomically-correct sex doll in this all-too-genteel indie comedy.
Rather than a sympathetic exploration of loneliness or a risque black comedy, this is singly played as a relationship satire that eventually draws the whole small town in on its long-running conceit. While this does provide some wry amusement, the joke eventually wears thin and it misses the pathos it yearns for because the scenario ultimately feels no more 'real' than Gosling's plastic co-star.

		- 3 stars (Good Enough) ~mvvm
- 1 star (Turkey) It might have been okay as a short film but this wears out its welcome after half an hour. There is a very good cast who all must have read the screenplay before taking it on which is the surprising thing for me. ~Tubbs
