Battle of Wits, A

Aroview: Broad, engrossing siege epic, in which a lone, resolute hero fights for a village overrun by a 25,000-strong army in 370 B.C. China.

Though not skimping on the spectacle and scale of ancient warfare, the film allows a generous amount of character interplay to engage the viewer during pauses in battle. Also intriguing as a conflict of mind over muscle, this pays extra special attention to the strategy required to outlast seemingly impossible odds.
