Two Days in Paris
Aroview: Delightful, self-starring directorial debut from Julie Delpy about an angsty Franco-American couple who drop in to visit her very European parents in Paris, only to find the city over-run with her exes.
It's her very own take on the walky-and-talky format developed from her acting turns in BEFORE SUNRISE and BEFORE SUNSET - played with more tongue-in-cheek, but with no less resonance or integrity. That Delpy and Goldberg are a real-life couple seemingly working out their issues in public makes it a slightly voyeuristic experience, though they both have the knack (taken from the Woody Allen rule-book) of how to turn neurosis into great entertainment.
