Bingo, Bridesmaids and Braces

Australia 1988, 93 minutes
Dir. Gillian Armstrong
Rating: [PG]
Genres: Documentary / Sociology, Girl-centric

Aroview: Taking a cue from the British 7-UP series, Gillian Armstrong's anthropological documentary follows the lives of three working-class Australian women.

First interviewed at age 14 in the original film "Smokes and Lollies", and then again at 18, this installment revisits the women at age 26 to see them "all grown up" in a world of adulthood with its attendant responsibilities, achievements and disappointments.

Followed in 1996 with "Not Fourteen Again" and in 2009 with "Love, Lust and Lies".
