New Zealand 2006, 93 minutes
Dir. Tim McLachlan
Genres: Horror

Aroview: An atmospheric but baffling 'lost in the woods' thriller, this locally-produced horror wrestles with the plight of various characters who are all tangled in unexplained quests, behavioural 'loops' or cryptic encounters.

Although one soon grows weary of the lack of explanation (which doesn't come until the last five minutes), but there are some imaginative touches, such as the use of Maori mythology as a foreboding spiritual force - possibly what inspired WETA's Richard Taylor to give it a gushing recommendation.
