Aroview: An extended though by no means deep excavation of German Cold War history, in which an East German swimmer (Ferch) defects to West Berlin in 1961 and plots to build a tunnel under the Wall so as to help his sister and other sundry individuals flee Communist rule.

Originally a TV mini-series, this certainly has the scope to wear the comparisons to other German epics like DAS BOOT, and has its own harrowing and complex dramatic mix of courage, mixed loyalties, betrayal and romance. Certainly worth the plunge for serious suspense fans.
