Appleseed - The Movie

Aroview: Muscular and violent anime set in a post-WW3 landscape, where a gung-ho woman warrior is captured and transported to a seemingly benign and utopian city of "Olympus" populated with all manner of cybernetic mutants and 'bioroids' controlled by a supercomputer called "Gaia".

Propelled by a startling melding of 2-D and 3-D animation, this is just sustained beyond the expectations of its rather familiar tale and traditional big-eyed anime characters. Certainly boasting some marvellous action mayhem, its one for afficianados. Based on the mid-1980s manga comic by Masamune Shirow.
