Valdez Is Coming

Aroview: An underrated late Western, with Lancaster playing a down-heels Mexican sherriff who takes a dangerous stand on principle against a powerful landowner.

After repeated humiliations he dredges up some serious weaponary and goes on a methodically arranged killing spree. Taken from an Elmore Leonard novel, this displays a characteristic focus on character, laconic dialogue and intelligent, eccentric twists of plot all leading to a devastaing finale.
