Aroview: An epic of silent Russian cinema to rival Eisenstein, this is set around a young Mongol fur-trapper who is swindled by traders and develops a burning desire to free his homeland. This is aided when he is discovered to be a direct descendant of Genghis Khan and is set up as a puppet ruler by foreigners - which he takes as an opportunity for violent revolution. Filled with dir. Pudovkin's characteristic flowing imagery and a new score by Timothy Brock.
