Aroview: Acclaimed Australian dir. De Heer seeks to transport his touch for creating dramatic fables into deepest Amazonia, with Dreyfuss playing a cranky hermit who is persuaded to join in a hunt for a jaguar who is terrorising a nearby village.

Long-delayed in release and somewhat audience-dividing, this fumbles much of its suspense with over-reaching symbolism, yet retains a certain core of jungle moodiness.
