Backyard, The

Aroview: A cringe-inducing glimpse into the American subculture of backyard amateur wrestling, in which contestants up the ante with barbed wire, staple-guns and broken bottles.

We follow six wannabes trying to break into this wrestling circuit, one created in stark opposition to the sanctioned, circus-like world of WWF, instead emphasising pain endurance. Never develops much wider insight into the world of its slackjawed proponents, though still presenting a fascinating freakshow.
