Tracker, The

Australia 2002, 98 minutes
Dir. Rolf De Heer
Rating: [M]
Genres: Drama

Topics: Indigenous & Minority Cultures, Period 1920s.

Aroview: Uniquely conceived parable enacted in the heat of Australia's outback in 1922, where David Gulpilil is an Aboriginal tracker forced to help three constables track a fugitive from a massacre.

Replete with symbolism, 'significant' dialogue and an eerie score by Archie Roach, this addresses the racial issues of Australian history with a bold setup that deserves praise, despite its obviousness.
