Aroview: Kiwi icons - Dunedin, rugby, Flying Nun music, student life - upholster a formula but well-executed crime plot in which five student flatters discover a cannibas harvest in the basement of their dilapidated mansion.

When the flappable five find they have a serious hostage crisis on their hands, the comedy moves into a more sinister gear, but here it clocks up most of its entertainment points. Echoes of SHALLOW GRAVE aside, this takes a more down-to-earth approach to the moral dilemma, and the characters retain our sympathy in spite of some dubious choices. Awarded Best New Zealand film of 1999.

2 stars (Good Try) Story was too weak but the cast almost manage to make it work. One of those hangover type films where your brain can be left in your pocket to watch. ~Baby
