A Simple Plan
A simple premise - three smalltown guys stumble across $4,000,000 in an undiscovered plane-crash and decide to keep it - out of which EVIL DEAD-director Sam Raimi pulls a decidedly pessimistic morality-tale of white-trash greed and neglected family bonds.
Billy Bob Thornton turns in another gripping portrayal of yokel-dom, while Bill Paxton and Bridget Fonda contribute able support. Only marks-off for some misplaced, FARGO-style slapstick which undercuts the credibility of a good yarn.
